When did
you first become interested in Lara and the Tomb raider
Series?
I first played
Tomb Raider when I was about 8 years old. My dad had bought our
first Playstation and on the demo disk was Tomb Raider 2. I
instantly fell in love and gathered the first four games that year.
What’s your favourite game from the series and why?
Tomb Raider 2 would have to be my
favourite. I have played this one so many times! It really brought
about a true Tomb Raider feel. It introduced so many new things that
the original missed out on. It truly is a fantastic game!
What does Lara Croft mean to you?
Lara Croft is my
second half. She means a lot to me! She was my Superman while
growing up, she was the creative, smart, and sassy woman who I
wanted to spend all my time with, and she was an influential
character in my own perspective, allowing me to one day pursue a job
in the field of Archaeology.
In each
game, Lara has run into a new enemy, which enemy has been your
favourite so far and why?
Natla from Tomb Raider 1 was the most
involved and evil enemy from any game in my perspective. She was the
one who tipped her off on an adventure that sold millions and helped
to create the Croft we know today. She was hard boiled, double
crossing, and one of those bad guys that just oozed cool!
What do you think the future holds for the Tomb Raider series?
I think the
future for Tomb Raider is now a very bright one. Now that the
instant success of Tomb Raider Legend has occurred, I think people
are more interested in Tomb Raider and Lara Croft, and I only hope
that we will see more Tomb Raider games in the future.
What has been the scariest moment for you when playing the games?
Wow. The scariest moment for me would
have to be the suspense that can occur. Knowing that as soon as you
walk into the next room and something is going to happen just kills
me. But as for one moment that really caught me off guard? I'd have
to say it's the first time I ran around a dark corner and a dog
jumped out at me, or when the bear snuck up on me in the City of
Vilcabamba. Those are scary and memorable.
How will you be celebrating the 10th anniversary of Tomb
Raider?
It's almost going
to be ritualistic! Like when I brought home Tomb Raider Legend I
will probably lock myself up in my room and watch every single
opening video, from the producers to the cool opening sequence. It's
going to be a very tense yet relaxing experience as I enjoy this
great moment in Video Game history all over again…
